Cake My Day!

Every year, some of the children in our community go without a birthday. Some families are unable to give their children a gift to open or a cake to celebrate their special day.

Introducing: Cake My Day! Families in our community will be able to fill out an application to receive a cake and small gift for their child delivered on their birthday. *This program is for families who are unable to provide these items to their child due to unforeseen hardships.

5th Annual Holiday Drive 2018

Bringing Project Lifesaver to Omaha Douglas County

Help BRING PROJECT LIFESAVER TO OMAHA/DOUGLAS COUNTY! Project Lifesaver is a tracking device for children with autism who wander. Your donation will help bring this lifesaving device to children in a nearby community. Donations will be matched up to $20,000 by Service Call.

About 1 in 59 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) according to estimates from CDC’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network According to a study done in 2012, 49% of children with autism had attempted to wander or run away. 65% of those incidents involved a close call with traffic, and 24% involved a close call with drowning.

4th Annual Holiday Drive 2017

Project Lifesaver Lincoln and Lancaster County

At The Jullia Rose Foundation, we are dedicated to helping children in need. We saw a need among children with autism. Approximately half of children with autism are prone to wander or elope from a safe environment. Through the generous donations from the community and a $20,000 match from Service Call children in this community are a lot safer than they were a year ago.

Project Lifesaver is the premier search and rescue program operated internationally by public safety agencies, and is strategically designed for “at risk” individuals who are prone to the life threatening behavior of wandering. The primary mission of Project Lifesaver is to provide timely response to save lives and reduce potential injury for adults and children with the propensity to wander due to a cognitive condition.

3rd Annual Holiday Drive 2016

Giving children a Voice. Ipads for Autism

Most children with autism are not able to communicate using their voice the way a typical child does. Some are completely non verbal but can use a tablet to communicate his or her wants and needs. Some need that extra help getting the right words out and a tablet can make a huge difference in their communication. We were able to purchase Ipads and cases for 29 nonverbal and semi nonverbal kids in the Lincoln area with autism. So glad we were able to give these children a voice!

Helping The Community

Our first ever holiday drive was named Helping Hands. Service Call, a local home repair and remodeling company found a few families in Lincoln who needed repairs done on their homes and could not afford to pay for the repair work. Service Call did the work for the families at no charge to them.
