Project Lifesaver Omaha

Your donations helped to BRING PROJECT LIFESAVER TO OMAHA/DOUGLAS COUNTY!

This lifesaving device is now available in Omaha thanks to generous donations. The Jullia Rose Foundation donated $20,000 to Autism Action Partnership in Omaha and Service Call matched the $20,000 donation for a total of $40,000 donated to start Project Lifesaver in Omaha!

About 1 in 59 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) according to estimates from CDC’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network According to a study done in 2012, 49% of children with autism had attempted to wander or run away. 65% of those incidents involved a close call with traffic, and 24% involved a close call with drowning.

Omaha Police Department has already had a successful save. https://www.omaha.com/livewellnebraska/health/wearable-tracker-helps-omaha-police-find-autistic-boy-who-wandered/article_241f6a60-923e-5dd4-8c9a-96ffbcdd7604.html?fbclid=IwAR054mYKevH6MUIHmOKSLsX5tCbpgVvFEX-TAAjBTkkKXguJXEz3if9tkR8
